Dr Fatema Vosoghi, a member of the center, told IQNA that the atlas, collected by Syrian researcher Dr. Shawqi Abu Khalil, contains a collection of the Quranic information with maps, tables and pictures.
It helps to specify the locations mentioned by the verses of the Quran and to mark places of ancient people mentioned in the Quran.
"We at Amirkabir Research Center did not just translate the atlas, but also updated the maps and included more maps," she said.
"The 240-page atlas contains 100 maps including those depicting the Persian Gulf, the location of tribes in Arabia at the time of Be'sat (call to prophethood), areas where the Ghazwa (battles) occurred, the cave of the people of Kahf, location of the idols, and so on."
Dr Vosoghi noted that 5000 copies of the Persian translation of the atlas have been printed by the Papli Publications.
