
Tehran, 2007 Aug 11, IRIB Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that revival of the Holy Quran is currently gaining ground around the world, on a daily basis.
According to Fars news agency, he was making the comment in the opening ceremony of the 24th Quran competition on Friday evening, adding that he encouraged young people to take resort to the holy book.
He noted that Holy Quran is the best guidance for mankind and emphasized its recitation, adding that contemplating and following the rules of Holy Quran is the only possible solution for mankind's ominous problems.
In his speech to an audience of international and national guests and participants, he pointed out that today tyranny, oppression and slander are common occurrences with some big powers and pointed to those who under the pretext of democracy and freedom, create social ills and instability in the region.
He referred to the Palestinians who suffer injustice and oppression at the hands of those who have forgotten God and obey evil, as well as innocent people in Afghanistan, South America and Africa.
The Iranian president said history shows how major powers exploited these people and have been taking innocent lives for centuries.
He told the audience that in supporting the Zionist regime, these powers invade other countries and sell arms for financial gains while their own people have to live under increasing stringent security measures. |
